Ronson grew up (in New York, where he moved at 8) closely around music, as his stepfather was "Foreigner" Mick Jones. As a teen, Ronson describes himself as "bookish musically". Attending Vassar College New York University (NYU), Ronson became a regular at downtown hip-hop spots and made his name as a DJ on the New York club scene in 1993. "Thieves Like Us" - probably best describe themselves - "Thieves Like Us met each other in Berlin in 2002. We met in Mauer Park. Two of us are from Sweden. One is from the United States. We were friends hanging out in a vast foreign city. We struggled with the language and the culture. We we hadn't registered our residencies at the local city hall so we couldn't even get memberships at a videotek. We were fans of rock and pop music and would try to find places to go out drinking and dancing, but all we would hear is techno and electro. The women didn't seem to like us at all. We started deejaying ourselves. We would play old krautrock (nobody recognized it), italo disco, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Factory Records stuff, and even new hip-hop. Later on we discovered French filter house and added this to our repertoire. Our cross over dj sets really seemed to bother the Berliners. Maybe it was the inconsistency in bpms. In Berlin, we heard and saw enough electronic music we didn't like. We thought we could do it better so we started our own band. Unable to gain a label or following in Berlin, we have temporarily relocated to New York City. Thieves Like Us will soon be seeking asylum in France. THIS IS HOW IT IT IS RIGHT NOW... "

I first met the Sunday School boys about two years ago at the 2005 tsubi christmas party, through a friend of a friend of a friend (you get the idea hahahaha). Monthly residents @ Starfuckers, these suburban Sydney boys (andy, juls, az and yams) started djing together last december and are making waves in the city scene. They have been playing a few other gigs around town and seem to have a devoted following.

He is incredible and has been famed for his remixes of The Rakes and prior to that his remix of Bloc Party's "Banquet" was epic.

I have therefore come to the conclusion that EdBanger should run a competition or something to allow for this to happen, but on one condition, the competition takes the form of Takeshi's Castle and DJ/producers from around the world have to complete an obstacle course in order to make it onto this prestigious French Record Label. Blister - a French (Duo? Guy?) not sure.... I talked about them late last year - (check the archives)... anyway whatever they are, they are scrumptious. I can't really figure out who they associate within the Parisian/French scene.... meh. The sound that resonates from my speakers as I listen to these beats is progressive and powerful, although those words are commonly used to describe music of the now. What Blister creates is different in a way that i cannot describe. There is most definitly an indie influence on this electronica. Worth a listen.

Ask anyone that i know and they will agree to no end that Surkin has been my favourite artist from the whole French scene since about July last year. I have a complete 0bsession (no pun intended) with this dude, from his style and precision in the first Justice release party (cram put your hand in the air), to his remixes that never cease to amaze me. His glitch-tek-ghetto-thug sound is uncanny to others, a true genius.

Omega Men

Alan Braxe is one the key figures in the French electronic music scene. He got his start back in the mid-1990s, working in Paris. His nickname is a variant of Brax, a region in France where Quême used to live. Braxe's debut single, "Vertigo" came out in 1997. It became a hit thanks to the "Virgo Edit" of the song, which was co-produced with Bangalter. He formed a record label Vulture Music, and continued to release hit singles, including "Rubicon" in 2004.



"Omega Man" is a track made by Alan Braxe's main side kick Fred Falke, it is one of the most relaxing tracks ever made.


"Chrystal City" is a track made by Alan Braxe and Fred Falke, originally given to me by my dear frend over at lxmx.net (Filipe) - great memories and times.









There are albums that shape one's tastes and influences. When my cousin came to me in mid 1999 and gave me as a birthday present Cassius' new album "1999", as a 12 year old i had no idea the impact that this masterpiece of French House would have upon the music that i was to listen to throughout highschool. This French duo Zdar and Boombass are incredible. With that said, i have to post two tracks that have kept me sane and insane over the past 6 years of my life.
