stray and grass

Stray and grass, a duo from Sydney that have got their roots in electro and in
die. These guys are awesome and have been doing a bit of dj'ing around the traps, i think quite a bit at the Eastern. Im not sure if they have played a live show yet, but hopefully they will in the not too distant future! This track, "the Brakes" has been out since may or something and is a fatty. Definitly one for the itunes library.

faces

The Valentino's have just released their new EP, "Damn and Damn Again" and it is even better than the first EP, which i was obsessed with. They are a Sydney 5 piece indie/alternative band that are going places. They have recently toured with Van She and are currently on a tour overseas somewhere. This track is awesome.

Papa's got a brand new bag

Photo: Face.hunter!

HIS? HERS? MINE? YOURS?

A fair while ago most Aussie men wouldn't be seen dead carrying a handbag. But now every other youthful BUT hairy arm is grasping a tote or satchel. The scene in Sydney is swinging, man. Swinging with manbags. Choosing:

Do's:

1. Follow function, not fashion – (on rare occasions). A good bag should have a clasp or a buckle and remember you ARE buying it for a purpose.

2. Ensure there are enough compartments to take keys, coins, phones and iPods. You don't want things banging around the bottom of your bag, yet.

3. Think about the weight of the bag. If the leather is thick and heavy, then, when the bag is full of stuff, it will be too much of a burden – of course. Men's bags are also usually bigger, just make sure they are practical.

4. Look in unusual places.

5. Explore the unusual. Pochettes are returning this coming season, the ones that have the appearance of an exercise book for a back-to-school look - the European looking ones, think Prada?

Don'ts:

1. Don't assume that all bags are solely pour les femmes. A canvas tote will look suitably masculine, especially with a navy trim. Marc by Marc Jacobs is currently selling canvas totes with the slogan "Give 'Em Hell, Al" over an image of our fearless hero, Al Gore.

2. Don't overstuff the bag. The sharp edges of a too-big book can destroy the shape of a bag, turning it from street wise to slumber party rucksack.

3. Don't stick to the style of your night trash adolescence. Valextra Premiere in brown is a much more modernist choice for the descent into adulthood.

4. Don't worry about matching shoes to the bag. There's nothing wrong this summer with carrying a tan leather valise with mustard patent sandals.

5. Don't worry if you can't stomach the male bag; just ensure your clothing has the right pockets to carry your load. Hate bags? Remember to hate trousers without good pockets even more. It's a philosophy some other designers should follow.

so with these words, i part you for another day at the office........ (not that i work at an office or anything, i just wanted to say that ok?)

manolo, manolo, manolo

ahhh, the thought of a girl in high-heels... what a beautiful thought. i really want to see girls this summer in some awesome heels, its like the making of my day when i go to the shops and see some honey with awesome legs and an awesome set of heels on. like...fuck!
ha.... here are some wise words for all those girls...

"a good heel picks you. Dont follow trends - follow yourself, you have to stand proud and tall. Always go with your first choice, your gut reaction. This is what your soul says. You have to pick something that will make you look even more exciting, and feel even more adventurous than you did before."
- Manolo Blahnik

so with those words of advice, from one of the masters of fashion/heels, girls, this summer, please, please follow your heart, not what some executive at some fashion house says! we will really appreciate it!

dont YELLE at me

ok besides the gay title of this post, it actually is worth reading on!
yelle! Ok, so if anyone that reads this post hasnt heard of that annoying french song that has been out for a while then u deserve to crawl up under the rock u came out from and go back to sleep. here is the tepr remix of it. its called a different name for some reason, but its fat, like fatter then me back in like year 9/10, and like thats pretty fat... hahaha

when the clock strikes midnight

Midnight Juggernauts are an indie-electro-synth assault poised before Armageddon. A sonic blizzard traversing dirty-organ-rock to stadium-disco-metal to sci-fi rollerskating jams, igniting danc
efloors along the way. Beyond the sound and the fury, they take their listeners through landscapes haunted by Georgio Moroder, ELO and John Carpenter before entering the dark future world of Bronx Warriors 2020, as captured by a '70s Italian film crew." - taken from their official website.
Midnight Juggernauts are one of australia's leading electro-indie crossover acts and have been providing us with flip tunes for a while now. Here is a great new remix they did of KIM (kimberly isaac moyes) that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

"Wet n Wild (Midnight Juggernauts remix)" - K.I.M.

edit: this track was recently featured on the miam les fruits VAN SHE mix.

VanShe ManiAAA

ok so
Van She are the kings of Sydney at the moment, not just Sydeny infact, the WORLD! Nearly every French Audio blog i go on has at least a reference, maybe even one or two Van She tracks. Van She released their debut 6 track Ep at the end of 2005, and instantly rose to fame, with their catch 80's electonic synth's and dance floor filling remixes, which can be found at their other myspace. I have uploaded and listed below all of their remixes (the ones that i have found over the past 9 months.)

Murder in the Daylight (Van She Tech Vocal Remix) - Mandy Kane

I Love You (Van She Tech Remix) - I am Finn

Ice Cream (Van She Tech Remix) - New Young Pony Club

Gravity's Rainbow (Van She Tech SP mix) - Klaxons

Here is a bonus, "i should be studying for the HSC" track that Cris Dork made, get crunk to it.
