one day in HK

Arrived Hong Kong yesterday morning, got the camera out and started snapping. 6:27am was the time and the airport was the place to be....

I was beatporting (yes i think it should be an olympic sport) and found this japanese LORD - Hiroki Esashika. Esashika has been producing since 1997 and spans a variety of genre's from tech house to electro to techno, falling in line with the malleable nature of modern electronic music artists. In saying this, his style is still definitive and definitly not to be missed.

setting off.....

Ill be traveling for the next week and a half. But i will be posting! I found this site the other night, which is basically a devotion to Svën and Cocoon. Its a sweet site for downloading techno mixes and just reading about the Cocoon community from another perspective.

The main man himself, Juan Atkins, the godfather of electronic music, hailing from "east-oakland, california and um..." Detroit, is going to kick this post off, with his 1985 killer track "Time Space Transmat". Look out for "Clear", which is one of his 1982 releases under the alias Cybotron, which featured on the Diplo Fabric Mix at the beginning of 2007. On the topic of Diplo, head over to "you make my heart sing" and hit up their Diplo/Santogold post from a few weeks back.

Time Space Transmat (Original Mix) - Model 500/Juan Atkins

Probably the most progressive techno i've heard in a while is bundled into this Junior Frank & John Watt remix of "Debonnaire" by Phillip Lake. It takes the best of both prog. and techno and drives them together in a masterpiece of musical engineering.

I couldn't close this post with out showcasing some fressssh Kardinal Official Ft. Clipse. Much love to the Clipse/re-up GANG. remember - "pack it up/sell it triple price/fuck the books"

Mandis & Durden x Namito

So there is a bit of hype around the traps at the moment as to this new minimal/techno label coming out of Australia - "Long Distance Recordings". Whilst I have been in contact with them, i have no tracks to post as yet, but i'm working on it. I do have a track by Namito, the collaborative half that has worked with Mark Dynamix (MDX) on the first release on Long Distance, "Salt" - MDX & Namito.

A few posts ago i delivered a Mandis & Durden track, "Kompressor".
I couldn't resist, so here is "Neo", the B side from the "Hertz" EP.

just keep dancing to the movie your in.....

The above video is probably one of the best youtube's ive sourced in a while. The video comprises of a drum and bass track laid over this footage of Mormon church followers. The beat is perfectly in time with their moves and it makes a fucking great laugh. a highly recommended favourite. "praising the lord junglist style" - here is a link to the original video of the church goers.

Moving onto the business side of things,  I now present to you a new Gregor Tresher remix. Top top top quality track.

Following on from this, if you haven't heard this track below by Dataworx, then i would be right-clicking and saving as, as soon as my little mouse cursor could get there. Im so excited to post this track, so much so that I am going to go out on a limb and say its my number one techno release for 2008. YEP I SAID IT! number one. :) download and munt.
